Born on August 30, 1797 in London, England, Mary Wollestonecraft Shelley is best known for her gothic novel, Frankenstein, or the Modern Prometheus in 1818. This year the gothic horror novel celebrates it bicentenniel.

 
Frankenstein was published anonymously when Shelley was just 20 years old – displaying her immensely gifted writing talent. Shelley died in 1851 at the age of 53. Her work lives on in Frankenstein – a legendary horror classic.
