Born on February 7, 1812, Charles Dickens was an English writer who penned some the world’s most famous classics, including A Tales of Two Cities, Oliver Twist, Great Expectations, Bleak House, The Pickwick Papers and A Christmas Carol. He is considered by many as the greatest novelist of the Victorian era. He was a true literary genius.
 

His early career included stints as an attorney’s clerk and newspaper reporter. In 1836, his first book, Sketches by Boz, put him on a path to success and ultimately fame.
